Director of Content and Communications
Job Description
We are seeking a highly creative and experienced Director of Content and Communications to lead our content team in developing and refining a modern content marketing strategy aligned with business objectives, target audience, and industry/market trends.
Reporting directly to the CMO you will be responsible for creating compelling content that feeds and builds our community, engages our target market, and continues to position Zylo as the enterprise leader in SaaS Management.
This collaborative role requires both strategic and tactical execution, strong program management, and the ability to lead a team. This leader will work closely with other marketing leaders and teams across Zylo.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop messaging and communications strategies that integrate and support sales cycles, product marketing, thought leadership, community, press relations, digital marketing, SEO, and events.
- Proven expertise in developing and refining a modern content marketing strategy aligned with business objectives, target audience, and industry/market trends. Have an in-depth knowledge of the target audience, their pain points, and preferences, and tailor content strategies to resonate with their specific needs and guide them through the buyer journey with Zylo.
- Be creative and build community through content.
- With the CMO and data team, develop a strategy to continue to leverage Zylo data in communications and content.
- Partner with executives to continue to develop Zylo's thought leadership, industry perspective, and POV.
- Direct research to drive thought leadership that educates the market, fuels awareness, and the continued brand recognition of Zylo as the market leader and SaaS Management resource.
- Produce high-quality, engaging content across various formats (channel copy, reports, podcast, videos, infographics, webinars, thought leadership, etc.).
- Own the communications and content marketing strategy, ensuring our content educates the market and guides our buyer through their journey with Zylo.
- Serve as a leader, mentor, and partner to our Content Marketing Manager
- Work with the Product Marketing leader to develop press releases for feature launches
- Manage content freelancers and other resources as appropriate.
- In partnership with the Content Marketer Manager, create and develop strategies to grow our podcast, elevate our thought leadership, prepare for speaking engagements, and work with our customers to bring their stories to life at our industry event, SaaSMe.
- Monitor industry trends to stay ahead of the curve
- Write, review, and edit content for messaging and positioning, Style guidelines, brand consistency, and voice; provide education and guidance to ensure high-quality writing for all Zylo content.
- Ensure that all content and external communications adhere to brand and communications standards and are written in a consistent Zylo voice.
- Partner with the Marketing Ops leader to measure and continually improve content performance, KPIs, and ROI.
- Support internal communications
Job Requirements
- 7-10 years of experience and leadership in content marketing, communications, and PR in a SaaS environment
- Bachelor’s degree
- Master storyteller and exceptional at bringing a brand to life in all content forms
- Strong leadership experience, including managing external resources
- Excellent writing and verbal skills, including communicating, collaborating and influencing at the executive level
- Foster a creative and collaborative work environment to encourage innovation and excellence
- Ability to focus, collaborate, and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven team environment with shifting priorities
- Strong analytical capability to drive storytelling and improve performance
